RIM Therapy

We all experience pain.  Whether from injury or age, chronic or acute, nagging or debilitating, pain dampens our lives and the lives our pets.   Pain is caused by inflammation heightens the sensitivity puts pressure on the nerves.  The most common solution is to take pills to block pain pathways.  Unfortunately those pills only mask the problem while causing damage to our livers, our kidneys or our mental sharpness.

Noninvasive Regenerative Therapy

Regenerative medicine is an exciting field.  The ability to regrow damaged tissue in a healthy way would change medical care in a profound way. Technologies like stem cells and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) therapies have had great promise, but have not really lived up to the hype.  Research shows mixed and meager results for all such therapies and the invasive and often very painful methods used for these therapies have hardly been worth it.

Epica has developed a new therapy called NRT (Noninvasive Regenerative Therapy).  As the name suggests, NRT is a way to regenerate and even remodel already scarred tissue back to a normal healthy state completely non invasively, without pain or side effects but with tremendous efficacy. NRT has 20 years of research and clinical studies behind it and has proven to be the first and safest consistently effective regenerative therapy.

When cells are affected by significant acute or chronic inflammation the cell cycle stops.  Healing either does not occur at all, or occurs only though placement of fibrotic scar tissue. This is true in the case of post surgical healing, traumatic injury and all inflammatory diseases; from arthritis and DJD to kidney disease.

NRT is a process of delivering tissue specific pulses of high power but low volume energy of the appropriate wavelength and wave form to tissues that either need to heal or have already been replaced by scar tissue.  These perfectly tuned pulses mechanically cause the cytoskeleton of the cell to signal the nucleus in the same way a healthy cell would in order to turn on the cell cycle.  We actually mimic the intracellular signaling pathway while providing energy to the cell to cause it to turn the cell cycle back on.  When some cells in the area of damage are triggered they enter mitosis and also utilize stem cells, which differentiate into the appropriate tissue type.

As the new cells are created, healing, and even replacing scar tissue, they express factors that influence the cells around them to turn back on.  The result is a healing cascade that allows regeneration of tissue in a way that was previously thought to be impossible.

Minimally Invasive Ablation Surgeries

Minimally Invasive Surgical Ablation (MISA) describes a process of delivering specific waveforms and fluence of energy with a laser fiber directly to tissue that requires eradication in order to vaporize that tissue without causing unnecessary colateral damage with a more invasive surgery.

With MISA, a very small catheter, needle, or scope may be used to guide the ablation fiber to the tissue in the body or in a cavity that is otherwise hard to reach.
Appropriate laser energy is delivered to vaporize the tissue within a very controllable area around the tip of the fiber.  The fiber and delivery device are removed any necessary suturing or bandaging is performed and the procedure is complete.
